EQUIPMENT RESERVATIONS
Camera Club equipment is reserved by filling out the Equipment Rental Request form. Upon submission, the Camera Club’s darkroom team will be in touch with members shortly about the requested equipment. Please note that submitting an Equipment Rental Request is not confirmation yet. For any rental requests, the minimum deadline to request is 5 days prior to the first day of the preferred loan period.
Camera Club members may only pick up reserved equipment from the Camera Club Darkroom during our Wednesday or Friday curator hours, 1–2 pm. Members are only allowed two, max. 1-week bookings per month (i.e. each member can book twice each month). Advanced reservations are possible no more than two months in advance.
LATE POLICY
The member should return the said equipment on the return date specified in their rental confirmation. The member has to return the borrowed equipment in person and address any issues the curator might identify. In the event of a late return, the member must pay a penalty fee of $50 per rental period. Members are responsible for ensuring equipment is returned on time. This means you must time your equipment return and pickup around issues of traffic, TTC delays, weather etc., unless you provide email communication to darkroom@harthousecameraclub.ca at least 2 days in advance.
LOSS/DAMAGE POLICY
Members who lose or damage equipment are liable for up to $350 in repair/replacement costs, subject to any changes in the University of Toronto insurance policy. They may also have their borrowing privileges suspended at the discretion of the Camera Club. Members must maintain proper supervision and handling of the equipment in their care, ensuring it’s secured properly when not in use. DO NOT LEAVE THE EQUIPMENT UNATTENDED IN AN UNSECURE ROOM, VEHICLE, OR AREA.
EQUIPMENT LOANS AND RETURNS
Equipment loans and returns are done at the Camera Club Darkroom during the Wednesday and Friday curator hours. Members must show the Darkroom Curator the email confirmation to check out an item. Please note that submitting an Equipment Rental Request is not confirmation yet. Please wait for our darkroom team to get back to you.
