Before acquiring a Darkroom Membership, all new members must attend a Darkroom Safety Session led by one of the Darkroom Curators. For the updated workshop schedule, please visit the Events & Workshops page. For members who have attended a Darkroom Safety Session (previously named Darkroom Orientation Workshop) in the previous academic year(s), further Darkroom Safety Sessions are not required to purchase new monthly or yearly darkroom memberships. However, proof of prior completion of a Darkroom Safety Session might be requested upon purchase of a new membership.
Attending a Darkroom Safety Session is mandatory to become a Darkroom Member, regardless of potential prior darkroom experience or attendance at our beginner workshops. The Darkroom Safety Session is essential and mandatory to be able to use the Hart House Darkroom, but it is not intended for learning how to develop and print. To learn the basics of darkroom use, please register for our beginner workshops.
Camera Club membership is open to all! No prior photography experience or portfolio needed.
Almost all Camera Club events require an active membership for registration.

To sign up for a Darkroom Membership, all new members must attend a Darkroom Safety Session led by one of the Darkroom Curators. The Darkroom Membership is only available for purchase in person at the Hart House Information Hub with a confirmation email received after attending a Darkroom Safety Session.
